3,000 Upper Manhattan children will participate annually in a monthly outdoor health leadership training series. Teachers will receive support to become health advocates in the classroom and at our sites.

About the Organization:
At Concrete Safaris, children as young as age 7 learn to ask their community how they would like to address this serious epidemic by improving how the spaces around their homes and schools are used. They have transformed over a half-acre of NYC Housing Authority property into children’s gardens, testified in support of neighborhood bike lanes, created bike maps for their neighbors to use and taught cycling lessons, and designed an annual obstacle course race and carnival for children and adults.
We’ll host JungleGym 2016, our 8th birthday party and 3rd annual obstacle race and festival on Saturday, June 25, 2016 at Jefferson Park
