About the Organization:
The Partnership aims to significantly reduce chronic disease in New York City–for everyone–by supporting proven, community-level efforts to change the environments in which people make decisions that impact their health. Four key focus areas are (i) healthy eating; (ii) active living; (iii) tobacco-free living; and (iv) reducing underage and excessive alcohol use. Community groups are linked through borough coalitions and the Partnership provides guidance on proven methods.

Healthy beverage materials displayed at community events, partner organizations and in MTA bus shelters throughout the summer of 2016

• Improving access to healthy food options anywhere food is sold or served.
• Encouraging the adoption of organizational policies around food served at events, parties, meetings, etc.

• Making stairs more accessible and appealing for people to use.
• Increasing the opportunities for play and exercise for adults and children.
• Supporting efforts to decrease youth exposure to tobacco advertising.
• Increasing availability of stop-smoking aids to those who wish to quit.
• Decreasing exposure to secondhand smoke where New Yorkers live, learn, work and play.
• Promotes water consumption and provides information about healthy beverages.
