Holy Apostles Church was a stop on the infamous underground railroad during the American Civil War. The parish gave food, lodging and support to slaves escaping to the free states or to Canada.

In addition to our meal programs, our committed staff and volunteers work with guests to ensure they are receiving full benefits, connect them to additional supportive services, help with job applications and even reunite them with family members.|Our ultimate goal is to empower our guests to experience a more manageable and fulfilling way of life.
Latest Project:
Our annual Fast-A-Thon, held one week before Thanksgiving, is a bold and effective way to make a difference in the lives of hungry New Yorkers. Since 2012, individuals, corporate and volunteer teams “hungry for change” have helped raise awareness about chronic hunger while also raising much needed funds for the soup kitchen.
