About the Organization:
Since 2007, Brandworkers members have been organizing, taking action and building solidarity to lift up a dignified standard and a voice at work for food manufacturing workers. Brandworkers serves as a community where workers develop their leadership and learn how to build campaigns for sustainable wages, benefits, and a voice at work. Members win acknowledgement and space to exercise their right to organize so that workers on can maintain and improve job quality gains for years to come. Members have achieved dramatic victories in a variety of factories including substantial improvements in wages and working conditions and the recovery of millions of dollars in illegally withheld pay. There’s certainly a long way to go, but Brandworkers members have turned the tide on exploitation in the industry and have strong momentum towards creating a local food production industry with dignity for every worker.
