Survey: Virgin America, Air Canada Have Healthy Fare
NYC Food Policy Watch editor Charles Platkin featured in today’s USA TODAY. His research on airline food demonstrated that “The calorie count is coming down in those in-flight snack boxes and meals, but when it comes to nutrition, U.S. airlines still have a ways to go.” Among the dozen carriers surveyed, the average calorie count per food item dropped from 388 calories last year to360 calories in 2013.
