Interesting Fact
In 2015, our Healthy Harlem initiative reached scale, engaging over 7,000 students in regular physical activity and nutrition education, including fun activities like “two-bite” taste tests for our pre-schoolers and cook-offs for our older students. More than 3,000 adults participated in fitness and cooking classes, support groups, and our farmers markets. And our Food Services team prepared 1.45 million healthy, nutritious meals, all low in fat, salt, and sugar and 96% from scratch.
