About the Organization:
Grass Roots, which is almost entirely operated by volunteers, was established over 11 years ago in an effort to bring fresh, local and healthy produce to Harlem. They acquire the food they sell from a handful of local NY state farms, and are always looking to expand and work with additional farms. Grass Roots, which is dedicated to helping improve the health of its community members, accepts EBT/SNAP, WIC & Senior FMNP, WIC Fruit & Vegetable Checks, and Health Bucks.
Latest Project:
Grass Roots now donates any goods that remain unsold at the end of the market day to the local mental health clinic and senior center.
