Latest Projects
The new Boriken Neighborhood Health Center will enable 15,000 East Harlem patients to access high quality primary care and other critical health services. The new 36,000-square-foot facility replaces leased space on the third floor of a nearby apartment complex. It is one of the first green health centers in New York City, using natural light and ventilation to create a holistic model for toxin and asthma trigger-free environments in a community with some of the highest asthma rates in the nation.
Interesting Fact
The East Harlem Council for Human Services, Inc. Women, Infants and Children (WIC) Program provides nutritional services to 1,300 women, infants and children each year. The Program is located onsite at Boriken and has served East Harlem families since 1978.
