SUMMARY:NYS Council on Food Policy 2015 Annual Summer Meeting
DESCRIPTION:New York State Council on Food Policy 2015 Annual Summer Meeting\n \nThe July 15 meeting\, which will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.\, is open to the public and a public comment period will be held at the end of the meeting. Those wishing to attend and present comments should RSVP no later than July 13\, 2015 by emailing the Department of Agriculture and Markets at nyscfp@agriculture.ny.gov or calling 518-457-1721. Public comments should be limited to 5 minutes and a hard copy of comments is required to be submitted to the Council at the time of presentation (12 in total). \nThe New York State Council on Food Policy develops policy recommendations both to ensure the availability of safe\, fresh\, nutritious\, and affordable food as well as to expand agricultural food production. DESCRIPTION:#IWILLLISTEN Community Mental Health Fair \n  \nSaturday\, July 25th from Noon to 3:30pm. \nSCAN NY’s Johnson Cornerstone Community Center \n1833 Lexington Avenue (between East 112th and East 115th Streets) \nIn July\, organizations across the country will take part in Bebe Moore Campbell National Minority Mental Health Awareness Month. Named after Bebe Moore Campbell\, an accomplished author\, activist\, and NAMI Urban Los Angeles co-founder\, July is a month to focus on building awareness about the importance of mental wellness and effective mental health care and informing the community about available resources. \n  \nNAMI NYC Metro’s #IWILLLISTEN Community Mental Health Fair will highlight mental health issues in communities of color\, provide resources targeted towards diverse populations\, and connect people immediately to mental health screenings and consultations. There will also be presentations by mental health professionals and local community organizations on specific mental health issues that affect communities of color\, and individuals and families impacted by mental illness will share their personal stories. Additionally\, the event will host a number of interactive family-friendly activities to foster wellness.
