The Big Apple Crunch at Hunter College in East Harlem will bring together hundreds of East Harlem children for a morning of fun and educational activities. Local elected officials (subject to availability and scheduling) will lead the crowd in big apple crunches throughout the day – attendees will bite into their apples to celebrate nutritious food and healthy eating in East Harlem. The community partners engaged in this work have come together to celebrate Food Day with community children in a fun, healthy and educational way.
Big Apple Crunch is a way for New York City residents to celebrate healthy eating. The goal of each annual Big Apple Crunch is to get as many New Yorkers as possible to bite into an apple on Food Day. In the past few years there have been more than 800,000 participants in the Big Apple Crunch nationally.
