The New York City Food Policy Center is always on the look out for innovative, intelligent writers who can produce high-quality, research-based content. Professional writers and editors, as well as individuals who are passionate and knowledgeable about food policy, food systems, sustainable and urban agriculture, and nutrition are strongly encouraged to apply. This is a remote opportunity which could be an internship or a paid opportunity based on experience and writing ability.

Follow NYC Food Policy submission guidelines:
  • Provide three title options
  • Submit a 700-1500 word article with citations
  • Photo: Include a high-resolution landscape photo for the article (1500 x 900 px under 800 kb) with permission, citation, and caption or suggest a photo from Shutterstock
  • Include a short bio
What type of articles do we accept?
  • News stories (topics may include food policy, food/health technology, food waste, food justice, community-based initiatives that improve food access, and other food system-related issues)
  • List articles
  • Investigative pieces
